Question: What are the physical differences between Soo Bahk Do and other martial arts?

Answer:
1. Soo Bahk Do is predominently a kicking and punching art that includes grappling and joint manipulation. This gives our students a very wide range of choices in dealing with self-defense situations.
2. We teach all our students to do everything possible to stay out of trouble and avoid any kind of conflict.
3. Many schools teach "sport" karate where techniques have been changed to "score points". This is not effective self-defense. Soo Bahk Do is not "sport karate".

Question: You claim to affect character development. What do you mean by that?

Answer
Our art teaches children and adults how to deal with all the situations life offers. Through repetition we build habits of excellence that last a lifetime. That our system works has been proven in numerous psychological studies over the last 30 years.

Question: How often should I attend classes?

Answer: Once a week is not enough. Twice a week is good. Three times is better. Four times is too much as most students burn out coming that often. However, all our classes for your group are open to you every week.
